Nintendo Direct 3/27
Byte's opinions on the Nintendo Direct. Includes heavy spoilers as it JUST came out!
Ah yes, the bi-yearly tradition of Nintendo showcasing whatever it is that's coming next to their system. Quite frankly, I'm not as much of a gamer as I used to be (not outside of my niche little go-to games, roblox and getting a new indie game here and there, that is), but I still like keeping up with Nintendo as I have been hyperfixated on some of their franchises my whole life (byte, a 20 y/o and her fucking scrimblo bimblo games i guess). There were very few games this direct that even stood out to me, but the ones that did stand out stood out.

Shadow Labyrinth
This is probably one of the weirdest fucking games I've seen lately. I mean, I and my friends were like. Tweaking out about the Secret Level episode based on this game that seemingly had NOTHING to do with Pacman. Weird ass promotional decision.
Confusing marketing aside, I find it a premature spectacle. Like this game is going to come out and a decade (or two considering the way the industry is nowadays) from now me and my friends are gonna say, "Ha, remember that? That was odd."
Patapon Remastered
This is my first time ever hearing of this game even though it came out 18 years ago so diehard Patapon-ers please don't sue me for not knowing of its existence.
Anyways, it looks so adorable and right up my alley. It reminds me of Rhythm Heaven, which is a series I enjoy. Not much else to really say about it.
Rhythm Paradise Groove
AFTER A WHOLE DECADE HIATUS, FINALLY!! I admittedly didn't get into Rhythm Heaven until my late teens (and even then i was unfortunately too depressed to play much :< ), but since then I've been a casual enjoyer of it! It looks just as charming as previous entries and I'm very excited to see the series return!
Tomodachi Life: Livin The Dream
THIS WHOLE ARTICLE COULD BE ABOUT THE NEW TOMODACHI LIFE HOLY FUCKING SHIT I'M SOOOOOOOO FUCKING EXCITED!! Ever since I was a wee lass I was obsessed with the Mii's and even now I get excited every time Nintendo Recognizes them.
Like so many other zoomers, I LOOOOOVE Tomodachi Life. I love its prequel, I love Miitopia, those games are SOOOO very important to me. I have so many memories of me and my friends showing each other the weird shit that happens on our islands. AND YET, WE'RE GETTING MOOOORE OF THAT!!! AAAAAAA!!!
The Mii's have been noticeably touched up, too! They kind of look like the weird Miis we got in Miitopia except more polished (i mean, it's no wonder people think the miitopia switch port was an interest test). They will take even more getting used to and I honestly think the Miis look weird with ears considering Mii's have almost never had ears (unless we're talking miitopia but really i think those miis were more of art pieces then miis).
Once Livin' The Dream comes out, I'll finally have an excuse to touch my dusty Nintendo Switch. I say that as I know I'm most likely going to get a Switch 2 in the fall just because of the ~modding potential~ of a switch with more horsepower. What can I say, I love tinkering with consoles!
